I use a Zoom H2 for recording but I also use 2xSanza Clips. One clipped
to my lapel and the other clipped to the lapel of the interviewee. This
is because I have lost more than one interview through the Zoom "press
twice to record 'bug'", and another when the interview exceeded the size
of the sd card.
This episode has a photo of the setup (thanks Dave) and as it happens
the audio in this interview needed to be recovered from the Sanza Clip.
See the red "remove before flight" key ring on Jeremy's shirt.
The audio from the Zoom H2 is excellent even in difficult recording
conditions, but the motto is "any audio is better than no audio". So
record with what you have at the time. Most people with smart phones
have video cameras in them and you can use the audio track as the recording.
