Dave has been working on a tool that can look at the notes and determine
their format. We also have a ticket open for a helper drop down list
that will allow the host to explicitly say what format it is.
If someone send us a valid markdown format, then we can automate the
processing of it and convert it to xhtml.
(The voices in my head are saying "well if you can write in a markdown
format that can convert to xhtml, then why don't you convert it, fix any
mistakes in the resulting xhtml and *then* send it in.)
As I keep saying, the problem arises when people send in notes that look
fine in a <pre> tag but it falls outside of a specification. Yes I know
that will be a shock to some people but it happens. Everyone has a
learning curve and the same applies to show notes.
We have and always will continue to accept shows with or without show
notes. If there are errors we will fix them.
There's nothing to discuss or decide really aside from the academic
discussion on how to "solve" the problem.
