Savannah, Georgia is one of the most beautiful cities in the United States, with a great history. It is one of the older cities in the south that actually escaped destruction in the Civil War because the mayor surrendered the city to General Sherman. After visiting this city, we moved just a bit further north to Charleston, South Carolina, where the Civil War began with the assault on Fort Sumter.
